COMPENSATION OF REACTIVE ENERGY
When compared with other energy sources, electricity regularly is more expensive, and way of collecting regularly allows the user a number of options.
Electricity is paid at 3 basics things:
- peak load (power)
- Active energy
- reactive energy (excessive)
Only active energy taken from the grid is converted in electrical machines into useful mechanical work. Reactive energy is then used to build a magnetic field in the machinery (+ electric transformers). If some users have no devices (capacitors) for compensation of reactive power, all the reactive power required to operate the machines must retrieve from the distribution network, which of course is extra paid.
Equipment for compensation of reactive power, if the user owns, ” products ” reactive power necessary for the operation of machines and thus the same energy no longer necessary to download from the network.
The reasons for compensation of reactive power:
1.) economic – cost reduction (elimination) for reactive energy – reducing the cost of peak load
2.) technical - reducing network losses – reduced voltage drops – relief of the primary network
3.) environmentally – replacement of old, toxic PCB capacitors
